This amazing lady is called Maureen (Mo) and will be 82 years old in January 2024.
She is the mum of Sandy (me) who founded the rescue during the covid lockdown. Not only does this brilliant octogenarian run a little charity shop in Lytchett Minster at the Courtyard Centre, to help fund the rescue, but she is always looking for new ways to raise much needed funds and further support the birds that come into care for rehab.
Mo decided to go for the highest possible legal sky dive in the UK of 15,000 feet (3 miles high). Free falling at 125mph, for 1 minute, on 15th October 2023.
The jump raised over £1,000.00 for the rescue (exact amount £1,118.78). Every single penny of the money raised went entirely to the charity. Even the jump was privately paid for and we cannot thank my mum and everyone enough for their support and generosity. We are truly so grateful.
Below are various photos and videos of that brilliant, beautiful and exciting day. The two young lads in some of the photos are Sandy’s son, Forrest (with the hairy face), and his best friend, Harris.
